In Blandford, a good website is part of the high street
Blandford Forum is a market town where independent shops, pubs and cafes still fill the centre. People come in from the surrounding villages for the day, and they check opening times, menus and stock on a phone before they make the trip.
The town has its own employers and visitors too. The Hall & Woodhouse brewery is at Blandford St Mary, and Blandford Camp, the home of the Royal Signals, is just outside town. Newcomers without local contacts rely on what they find online.
Every site we make is custom-built, never from a template. Find out how we approach a new website, or look at work we have finished for businesses like yours. We also build for businesses in Wimborne, further down the Stour.
Websites we have built
A few of the sites we have designed and built.
Independent shops, pubs and trades: what Blandford customers want to see
A town centre full of independents, with villages all around, needs each website to answer different questions.
Market Place shops Show what you sell, your opening hours and any parking tips, so a shopper driving in from the villages knows the trip is worth it.
Pubs, restaurants and cafes Put the menu, food times and a booking link first, along with anything special on that week.
Trades serving the villages Name the villages and areas you cover, show real jobs with photos and make calling or asking for a quote a single tap.
Vets, dentists and clinics Explain each treatment or service, your fees where you can, and how to book, with clear directions and parking.
Wedding and event businesses Show real events you have worked on, what each package includes and how to check a date, so couples can enquire straight away.
Removals, storage and home services Set out what you move or store, where you cover and how to get a quote, for people arriving in or leaving the area.
Turning a Blandford website into a reason to visit
- Open with what you sell or do and where you are in Blandford, so a visitor can picture finding you in the Market Place or nearby.
- Put opening hours, parking and a map high up for shoppers coming in by car from the villages.
- Use your own photos of the shop, the food or the work, because your premises and the town's Georgian streets say more than any stock image.
- Keep the site quick and simple to use on a phone, with your number one tap away.
Rebuilt after the fire of 1731 and still a market town
1731The great fire that led to Blandford's Georgian rebuilding
Blandford Forum is a market town in Dorset on the River Stour, in the Dorset Council area. Almost the whole town was destroyed by fire on 4 June 1731 and rebuilt in the following years under local architects John and William Bastard, which is why the centre is so strongly Georgian.
Across the river, Blandford St Mary forms part of the same town, and the Stour flows on south-east towards Wimborne. We run Angler Digital from Hordle in Hampshire, and Blandford is one of the Dorset market towns we build for.
Our pages for Wimborne and Poole cover the towns further down the river and on the coast.
