Local Insight

In Burley, visitors decide where to go before they park

Burley is a small New Forest village, but it draws visitors well beyond its size. People come for the forest walks, the ponies, the tea rooms and the village's witchcraft history, and most of them plan the visit on a phone.

That makes your website the first stop. A tea room with today's opening hours on its homepage, or a bike hire shop that takes bookings online, gets chosen before the visitor has even left the car park.

We design every site from scratch for the business behind it. See the way we approach each build, or browse the sites we have finished. We also build for businesses in Lyndhurst and Brockenhurst, across the forest to the east.

Websites we have built

A few of the sites we have designed and built.

Tea rooms, gift shops and forest trades: what each Burley website should show

A village that lives on visitors and on the homes around it needs websites that serve both.

Tea rooms and cafes Lead with opening hours, a short menu and whether you welcome walkers and dogs, so a family coming off the forest knows they can stop.

Gift and antique shops Show a few pieces you stock and how to find you, and add an online shop or a reserve option if you have one, for visitors who want to buy once they are home.

Bike hire and forest tours Make booking the main button, with prices, times and what to bring, so people can arrange the day the night before.

Pubs and places to stay Put rooms, food times and a booking link at the top, with clear directions into the village.

Builders, gardeners and forest trades List the jobs you take on in Burley and the villages around it, with photos of real work and a number people can tap.

Cider makers and local producers Explain what you make, where to buy it and when you are open, and let people order online if you deliver or post.

How a Burley website earns the visit

  • Put your opening hours and today's details on the first screen, because visitors decide on the day.
  • Tell people how to find you, where to park and whether dogs are welcome.
  • Show your own photos of the tea room, the shelves or the forest outside, so visitors recognise the place when they arrive.
  • Add a simple way to book or order, so a visitor can act the moment they decide.

Burley's past still brings people to the village

1950sWhen Sybil Leek, a self-styled white witch, lived in Burley

Burley is a village in the New Forest, Hampshire, south-east of Ringwood. Fewer than 1,400 people live in the parish, and the village is surrounded by open forest and heathland, with ponies grazing close to the houses.

In the 1950s the village was home to Sybil Leek, a self-styled white witch who walked through Burley with a jackdaw on her shoulder. Gift shops with a witchcraft theme still trade on that story today. Angler Digital is a short drive away in Hordle, so we know the forest villages well.

Lyndhurst and Brockenhurst are a short drive east across the forest, and New Milton lies to the south, towards the coast.
