Local Insight

Both counties look up Highcliffe businesses online

Visitors come to Highcliffe for the castle, the cliffs and the coast, and residents use the same shops, cafes and services all year. Both groups tend to look at a website before they set out or pick up the phone.

The town sits right on the county border, so the person looking for you may be in Dorset or in Hampshire. If your homepage names the places you serve and shows your number straight away, they can choose you without guessing whether you cover them.

Learn about our design process or look at some of our projects. Christchurch and New Milton, on either side, have pages of their own.

Websites we have built

A few of the sites we have designed and built.

Highcliffe cafes, guest houses, clinics and firms: what each site needs

Each of these businesses gets asked different questions, and the website should answer them before the phone rings.

Cafes and restaurants Show your menu, today's hours and whether you take walk-ins, so someone leaving the castle can decide on the spot.

Guest houses and B&Bs Lead with the rooms and a clear way to book, so guests from either county can reserve without a string of emails.

Care and wellness services Explain each service in plain words, who it suits and how to arrange a first visit, so families can check you calmly before calling.

Accountants and local firms Set out what you do and give an easy way to book a call, so a client on either side of the border sees quickly whether you suit them.

Electricians and builders List the places you cover, Walkford, Friars Cliff and Mudeford included, next to a number customers can tap to call.

How a Highcliffe website handles the county line

  • People search from both sides of the border, so the homepage names Highcliffe, Walkford and the nearby places you serve, in plain words near the top.
  • Visitors to Highcliffe Castle are usually on foot with a phone in hand. A map link and your distance from the castle help them find you after their visit.
  • Residents use you all year, so your opening times appear at the top of every page.
  • Directions that mention the golf course or the school are easier to follow than a postcode on its own.

The castle, Walkford and the Dorset edge, on your Highcliffe site

1830sHighcliffe Castle built, a Grade I listed mansion on the cliffs

Highcliffe, or Highcliffe-on-Sea, is a seaside town east of Christchurch at the eastern edge of Dorset, in the civil parish of Highcliffe and Walkford. Using both names on your site helps people who know the town by either one.

Highcliffe Castle, a Grade I listed mansion built in the 1830s, stands on the cliffs, and the town has its own golf course and school. Mudeford and Friars Cliff lie along the same coast.

The Hampshire border is a short way east, and our pages for New Milton and Christchurch cover the towns on either side, with Southbourne further west along the coast.
