Local Insight

In a market town, your website is the first shop window

Wimborne Minster is a market town where people still like to shop, eat and get things done locally. Before they walk into the Square or ring a builder in Colehill, most of them look the business up on their phone. What they find decides whether they come to you or try the next name.

Visitors add another layer. People come for the Minster, the Tivoli Theatre and the Model Town, and for Kingston Lacy just outside the town. Many choose where to eat or stay while standing in the street, so your hours, menu or rooms need to make sense straight away.

Every site we make is custom-built for the business it belongs to. Read about the way we put a site together, or look through sites we have finished for other local firms. We also build for businesses in Poole, a few miles south, and in Bournemouth.

Websites we have built

A few of the sites we have designed and built.

Shops, pubs, trades and B&Bs: what each Wimborne website needs to do

A town centre, the villages around it and a steady stream of visitors all ask different questions.

Independent shops around the Square Show what you stock, your hours and where to find you, so someone parking up for the afternoon knows your shop is worth the walk.

Pubs, tearooms and restaurants Put today's menu, your hours and table booking at the top, for people leaving the Minster or heading to a show at the Tivoli.

Holiday lets and B&Bs Lead with photos of the rooms, what a night costs or where to book, and how far guests are from the town centre and Kingston Lacy.

Builders, gardeners and other trades List the jobs you take on and the places you cover, from Colehill to Pamphill, with photos of real work and a number people can tap.

Hair, beauty and wellness Set out each treatment with its price and how long it takes, and let clients book a slot online while you are busy with someone else.

Accountants and financial advisers Explain each service in plain words, say who you help, and make it easy to arrange a first meeting in town or a call.

Building your Wimborne website around how people find you

  • Your homepage says plainly that you are in Wimborne and names the villages you serve, so nobody has to guess whether you cover them.
  • Visitors walking between the Minster and the Square need your opening hours, a map and a tap-to-call button before anything else.
  • Real photos of your shop, rooms or past jobs earn more trust than stock pictures, so we build the page around them.
  • Pages are kept light, so they open quickly for someone on mobile data in the middle of town.

A minster town on two rivers, and why that matters online

1686The Minster's chained library founded, one of the first public libraries in England

Wimborne Minster is a market town in Dorset, in the Dorset Council area, where the River Allen meets the River Stour about five miles north of Poole. The Minster gives the town its name, and its chained library dates from 1686. The Tivoli Theatre opened in 1936 as a cinema and theatre, and the Model Town shows the town centre at one-tenth scale as it was in the 1950s.

Kingston Lacy, a National Trust house and estate, lies just north-west of the town. All of this brings in visitors who do not know your business yet, so a clear website matters here as much as in a bigger town. Angler Digital is based in Hordle, near Lymington, and we work across Hampshire and Dorset.

From Wimborne, the Stour carries on to the harbour at Christchurch, where we also build websites. Our pages for Poole and Bournemouth cover the larger towns towards the coast. Upriver, Blandford Forum has its own page, and so do Ferndown, a few miles east, and Verwood to the north-east.
