Local Insight

Lyndhurst visitors pick where to go on a phone

People come to the New Forest for the walking, cycling, wildlife and villages. They eat in local pubs, stay in Forest lodges and B&Bs, book guided walks, hire bikes and browse the independent shops on the High Street, and many of them search on a phone before they spend.

Lyndhurst has the New Forest Heritage Centre, the main car parks, and pubs and tea rooms that fill up at weekends. A site that shows your hours, menu or free rooms at a glance helps someone standing in the car park choose you.

Every site follows our custom web design approach and is built around the visitors you serve. See real projects in our portfolio.

We build for businesses that serve visitors travelling between Lymington and Southampton.

Websites we have built

A few of the sites we have designed and built.

Lodges, tea rooms, guided walks and galleries: Lyndhurst sites by type

Forest businesses serve people planning a day out, so each site should make that planning easy.

Forest lodges and B&Bs Show the rooms, what is nearby and availability, and say clearly if dogs are welcome, since visitors search for dog-friendly places to stay.

Tea rooms and pubs Put weekend opening times, the menu and a walking map from the main car parks at the top of the homepage.

Guided walks and experiences Make dates, meeting points and a booking button easy to find, so people can plan their day in the forest around you.

Bike hire List bike types, prices and opening hours, and let people reserve ahead when they search for bike hire in the New Forest.

Galleries and independent shops Use good photos of the work, your High Street address and opening days, so browsers can fit you in between other stops.

Planning a Lyndhurst website for weak signal and busy weekends

  • Phone signal in the forest is not always reliable, so pages stay light and quick to load, with no heavy video on the homepage.
  • Opening hours, directions and booking sit on the first screen, because visitors check those before anything else.
  • Your wording matches how visitors search, such as “places to eat Lyndhurst” or “dog-friendly accommodation Brockenhurst”.
  • If you cover villages such as Minstead and Emery Down, a short areas section names them.

Often called the capital of the New Forest: Lyndhurst detail for your site

Around3,000Residents in the village

Lyndhurst is a village in the New Forest National Park, about nine miles south-west of Southampton, and is often called the capital of the New Forest. The New Forest District Council and the Court of Verderers are both based here.

The village has around 3,000 residents and a High Street of independent shops, galleries and cafes. We build websites for those businesses, for places to stay, and for tradespeople in villages such as Minstead and Emery Down.

Lyndhurst is a short drive from Lymington along the A337 and about nine miles from Southampton. Brockenhurst lies between Lyndhurst and Lymington and has its own page too, and Winchester, the county town, is further north. Burley, a few miles west across the forest, has its own page as well.
